Here are three white butterflies within roughly one square foot of my radishes.

Could my butterflies be Cabbage Whites(Pieris rapae)?

Ohio Butterfly Species

This guy thinks the name rapae derives from the greek word for radish.

Look out broccoli and cabbage. My cousin swears by a spray bottle with a tablespoon each of vinegar and dish soap sprayed on leaves to prevent feasing by critters.
Maybe we should have a thread titled "Wildlife Spottings". I'd start it myself, but I don't know how to start a new page. This morning I spotted several bees, yes bees!, hopping about in the blossoms of my squash. Very exciting indeed, and last week I saw lady bugs. I think they were the real ones, not just the look alikes that have become so common.
