Is the leaf to radish size ratio here normal?
Hi Webb Gardeners.
I would answer: no. Is your soil really compact? It looks like it might not be fully grown yet. Here are snaps of a few radishes that we harvested from our Webb plot about a month ago. We used organic seed and planted them in 2 10 foot rows that we removed most of the rocks from then hoed in about 1tsp of vermicompost per seed before planting. We didn't do much upkeep besides watering and occasional weeding. After the greens were trimmed we yielded around 5 pounds for our first batch. They did well but it was earlier in the year. The second batch that we planted aren't developing as quickly but it might be the heat.
I will check on the progress of the second batch today and report back.
